Net Metering Systems in Pakistan for Residential Commercial
Paksolar Renewable Energy offers Net Metering Solar systems in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Install Net metering to save electric units which is increasing day by day by the local electric suppliers. Why us? Because we are your experienced and more reliable energy solution partner in the Pakistan solar business. The net metering system is the best way policy and incentive for the residential and commercial solar industry. Simply put, net metering is a way of using the electric grid to store the energy produced by your solar panel system for use at a later time such as nighttime.
With a properly sized solar power system, you can generate enough electricity to more than meet your home's electricity needs. Rather, the additional units take it back from WAPDA after sunset in the evening. The number of units of electricity your solar generates varies between the winter and summer sunnier months because the sun spends less time in the sky in the winter, and the solar irradiance also decreases, resulting in less energy. Units are generated. Net metering helps offset these seasonal differences in solar products by crediting extra units of electricity generated by your panels so you can use them after a certain date. This is the practice all over the world, but in Pakistan, all electricity providers limit the size of solar power to the approved sanctioned load.
When Net Metering facility established in Pakistan?
On September 1, 2015, NEPRA announced the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Alternative & Renewable Energy) Distributed Generation and Net Metering Regulations. As per regulations, a customer of the national grid with a three-phase connection can avail of the net metering for small-scale (1kW to 1MW) renewable energy installations.
What are the benefits of net metering?
First, the system is very simple and requires little or no action from the solar system owner after initial installation.
Net metering provides the true value of excess energy without the need for additional installation or other expensive storage systems.
Second, homeowners and businesses can contribute to energy and reduce some of the load on the power grid. This is especially true during peak consumption periods.
Third, in net metering, a single solar-powered home can essentially power many other homes. Regions using the solar system on a larger scale could be self-sufficient.
Fourth, it provides consumers with a simple yet effective role in alternative energy production. Without any other work, solar installers can help protect the environment and conserve natural resources.
Finally, households that use net metering tend to be more aware of their energy consumption and consequently reduce energy wastage.
Procedure of Net Metering!
Following are the process & procedures for Net Metering in Pakistan
- Application for net-metering your local DISCO
- Acknowledgment of application from DISCO"s
- Initial review by the DISCO"s
- Technical feasibility in initial review
- Agreement with the DISCO"s
- Generation license from NEPRA
- Connection Charge Estimate
- Installation of interconnection facility
Charges to be paid by DG for the commissioning of Net Metering at the proposed facility are as follows:
1- DG is responsible for all the cost associated with interconnection facilities up to the interconnection point including meter installation.
2- DG is also responsible for any costs reasonably incurred by DISCO in providing, operating, or maintaining interconnection facilities and distribution system improvements.
3- A Distributed Generator has to pay a one-time fee through a pay order in favor of NEPRA for issuance of generation license as per the following fee schedule.
Sr.# | Size of DG facility | Fee to be paid by Applicant |
---|---|---|
1 | 0-20 KW | Free of Cost |
2 | 20-50 KW | Rs. 500/- |
3 | 50-100 KW | Rs. 1000/- |
4 | 100-1000 KW | Rs. 5000/- |
